College/University Education:

I began my college career at Hinds Community College as a Music Major with an emphasis in Voice and Instrumental.  I also studied Music for children.  I took multiple courses in Literature and History.  After two years, I transferred to The University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, MS, where I was a Biochemistry Major. Longing to be closer to my hometown of Vicksburg, I transferred to Mississippi College and pursued Elementary Education.  I ultimately completed my degree in Social Work and was a member of the President's list, National Association of Student Social Workers and interned at MIDD-West Industries.  This is a non-profit organization which works for the betterment of the developmentally disabled.  These individuals are trained to enter the job force and (for those who are able) transition to independent living.

I returned to Mississippi College to earn my Masters Degree in Education.  My passion has always been to work with children and to make a positive impact in their lives.  I continue to feed my passion for learning and educating, here, at Bentonia Gibbs!
